Acrylic, oil and pastels on canvas
The rose that expresses the most exquisite perfection and the most unabashed wildness. That is "Rosa selvatica", a painting made with an intense bent towards abstract expressionism.
This painting is the fruit of abandoning myself to creativity without regard for the outcome, a kind of controlled loss of control. "Rosa selvatica" is a painting made with several layers of mixed media, also including iridescent and metallic pigments in the underpainting. It is powerful, spontaneous, vivid and forceful, while also being delicate, ephemeral, seemingly transparent and veil-like.
It hovers on the wall and seems to take on a life of its own. Wild but tranquil.
It is made to be adored and revered.
At the time of this writing "Rosa selvatica" is available for collection in my Italy studio.
