"Calypso" is a painting made after I spent several weeks on the Italian island Pantelleria, where legend has it Ulysses met Calypso in a cave on the sea with  thermal water springs. It is a purely Mediterranean painting, with a jewel-like surface and striking pallet, and my trademark movement upwards towards the sky. "Calypso" is dedicated to the element of water. The perspective and space are dynamic, and there is a natural light emanating from this painting.
