There is a place in the highest mountains in Colorado where the air is thin and the light is effervescent. It is quiet. So quiet that you can hear your own heart beating, you feel the dance of snowflakes in the rarefied air around you. You are careful to walk with purpose. You are alone, a moment in the grandeur of the great winter. 
This is "Summoning winter".  A painting dedicated to my life in the high country, a life of cold and angels and dramatic beauty. A wild life. A dream.
